In 2 Chron 32: 7-8 Hezekiah said to the people:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed before the king of Assyria and all the horde that is with him, for there are more with us than with him. With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.”
2 Chron 32: 7-8 (ESV)
If the King of Assyria is representative of our sinful, human nature then the same encouragement applies to us. Your carnal mind might seem like it is too strong to overcome in your battle against pornography, but you have the Lord your God to help you to fight this battle.
It is a very hard thing to do, but you need to stop trusting in yourself and your own ability to overcome this problem by willpower, and instead lean on God and put your trust in Him to help you through this.
That doesn’t mean you sit back and do nothing and wait for God to somehow miraculously fix things. Hezekiah laid out the problem before God and prayed for His help, but he then went about and took all the possible steps that he could to prepare for the battle.
